Grace Vanderwaal wins AGT and now she wants to help charity!
Grace Vanderwaal entered this competition with the thought that “miracles happen,” and that’s exactly what happened for this cute 12-years-old singer and songwriter. Grace Vanderwaal may only be 12-years-old but when she walked onto the stage to audition for America’s Got Talent, she blew all the judges away because they didn’t expect her to be so unique.
Vanderwaal performed AN ORIGINAL (which can be risky in competition) called “I Don’t Know My Name,” and it was fantastic. It was so good that Judge Howie Mandel used his golden buzzer on her during the audition.
Howie felt really strong about Grace. He said:
“The most amazing thing about Grace is that you haven’t heard anybody who sounds like her,” he stated. “You haven’t heard any lyrics from somebody that is like her, and we’ve been saying to her, you are the most unique, brightest star to come out of one of these shows.”
And Simon couldn’t agree more because he compared it to the “Kelly Clarkson,” moment they had when she won the competition. He said:
“That moment at the end, it reminded me of the Kelly Clarkson moment. You know, when they said, ‘And the winner is Kelly Clarkson,’ ” Cowell said. “I kind of had that same feeling again when they read her name out, and I saw her reaction and she was literally in pieces. I like that though.”
Heidi Klum even thinks that Grace will be able to change the music industry for the better. She said:
“There’s only so few people who pop up now and then that can really make a difference, and she will make a difference in music 100 percent.”
America’s Got Talent judges must have known from the beginning that Grace was going to win this competition because even Mel B agreed with everybody else about Grace. She said:
“I remember the first time I saw Grace, we all said that is a superstar,” she says. “So I’m glad she got it.”
How amazing, she’s impressed everybody on the judging panel and she even impressed Nick Cannon. He opened up about his thoughts on her taking the prize. He said:
“I’m not going to say I called it, but I’ve been saying that girl is a superstar since the moment that I met her,” he said. “Her energy. Her vibration. Her light is so real now the world is about to see even more.”
And when Grace was asked how she felt about winning, she described it as ‘unbelievable,’ she said:
“It kind of takes a while to set in, but it’s really unbelievable,” she says. “I feel like, I don’t feel, I am living my dream.” Grace also wants to do a few things to celebrate the win she told PEOPLE she wants to donate some of the money to charity and then buy herself a tree-house. She said:
“ I want to go on Treehouse Masters and I want to get a treehouse.”
How cute is that? Well, I mean when I was 12-years-old I wanted a tree-house as well. We can’t wait to see what else this beautiful girl will come out with in the music industry. She’s headed for some big places and we just want to say congrats. You worked hard, you deserved it and now you can relax for a little because life is about to get busy but we’re sure she’s going to love every moment of the industry life.
